Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about how Pollzy works, who can use it, how moderation and notifications behave, and where to get help.

Basics

What is Pollzy?

Pollzy is a social polling app where users create and vote on polls, comment, follow other users, compare vibe scores, send duel challenges, message each other, and engage with trending content.

Who can use Pollzy?

Pollzy is for users 16 years and older.

Is Pollzy free?

Yes. Pollzy has free, ad-supported features. Pollzy may also offer optional paid features such as Pollzy+ subscriptions and boost packs.

Do I need an account?

Yes. A Pollzy account is required to use core app features, including viewing polls, voting, commenting, following users, Vibe Checks, duels, chats, and notifications.

Polls, Voting, and Sharing

What types of polls can I create?

Pollzy supports Classic polls, Quiz polls, and Duel polls. Polls use Option A vs Option B with images and optional captions, prompts, and tags.

When do I see results?

Poll results appear after you vote.

Can I see who voted on my polls?

Some voter details may be available with Pollzy+. The exact features included with Pollzy+ are shown in-app before purchase.

Can I share polls?

Yes. You can share poll links and share content to supported social apps from within Pollzy.

Why is my poll or comment missing?

Content may be hidden or removed if it violates Community Guidelines, is under moderation review, or is scheduled for deletion.

For You Feed

How does the For You feed choose polls?

Pollzy ranks eligible polls using signals such as the topics and creators you engage with, poll quality, freshness, recent momentum, language, and a rotating exploration sample. Votes, comments, shares, follows, viewing time, quick skips, and Not interested choices can influence future recommendations. The feed prefers polls from the last 30 days, but it can use polls up to about 12 months old when newer inventory is limited so the feed does not become empty.

What never appears in my For You feed?

Polls you created or already voted on are excluded, along with polls you marked Not interested and content hidden by account blocks, moderation, restriction, or deletion.

How can I change or reset my recommendations?

Use Not interested from a poll's menu to remove that poll and reduce similar recommendations. To start over, go to Settings > Privacy & Data > Reset For You Recommendations. Resetting clears learned recommendation interests, recent recommendation history, and Not interested choices, but preserves your votes and blocked accounts.

Duels

What are duels?

Duels let you invite another user to complete the other side of a poll. Once accepted, the duel can be posted to both profiles so the community can vote.

How do duel invites work?

You can send duel invites to eligible users from the duel poll flow. Received and sent duel invites appear in the Duels screen. A recipient may accept or decline an invite, and a sender may unsend a pending invite.

Chats and Message Requests

Can I send direct messages?

Yes. Pollzy supports one-to-one chats, including text messages, poll shares, message reactions, read receipts, typing indicators, and online status where enabled.

How do message requests work?

If you message someone who does not follow you, the chat may appear as a message request. The recipient can accept, decline, block, or report the request. Pending requests may have sending limits until accepted.

Can I control who can message me?

Yes. In Settings > Privacy & Data, you can control message requests, read receipts, online status, and typing indicators where available. You can also block users.

Can I edit, unsend, hide, or delete chats?

You can edit or unsend your own text messages where available. Hide Chat removes a chat from your inbox. Delete Chat removes it from your inbox and clears the visible message history for you, but it does not delete the other person's copy or records kept for reports, safety, legal, backup, or audit reasons.

Are links in chats checked for safety?

Pollzy may check links in chat messages and block links that appear unsafe, suspicious, local/private, or malicious. You should still be careful when opening links from other users.

Vibe Checks

What are Vibe Checks?

Vibe Checks compare how similar you are to another user based on common votes. They are for entertainment, discovery, and social interaction only.

What do Unlocked and Pending mean?

Unlocked Vibe Checks are users whose vibe score you can view. Pending Vibe Checks are users available to unlock.

How does the Vibe Check unlock work?

Some Vibe Check access is unlocked by watching a rewarded ad in the Pollzy app. Ad availability and reward delivery can vary by device, region, connection, and provider availability.

Can I share a Vibe Check?

Yes. You can share a generated Vibe Check image to supported apps, save it to your device where available, or share it through the system share sheet.

Pollzy+ and Boosts

Is Pollzy subscription-based?

Pollzy+ may be available as an optional auto-renewing monthly or annual subscription. Pricing, renewal, cancellation, and included features are shown in-app and/or in the applicable app store before purchase.

What does Pollzy+ include?

Pollzy+ may include enhanced features such as Vibe Insights, seeing who voted on your polls, and monthly bonus boosts. Current benefits are shown in-app before purchase and may change as described in the Terms.

How do I manage, cancel, or restore Pollzy+?

Manage or cancel Pollzy+ through your Apple App Store or Google Play subscription settings. You can also use Restore Purchases in the Pollzy+ screen if an existing purchase is not showing. Deleting your Pollzy account or uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel a subscription.

What are boosts?

Boosts are consumable digital items that can help a poll reach more people for the boost duration shown in the app. Boosts may increase visibility, but they do not guarantee impressions, votes, follows, comments, shares, ranking placement, or popularity.

Where can I see my boosts?

The Boosts screen shows your remaining boost balance plus active and past boost history, including available performance metrics such as views, votes, comments, and shares.

Verification

How do verified badges work?

Pollzy may offer optional verified badges. Verification can require a profile photo, display name, username, date of birth, and an identity check through Stripe Identity or another supported provider.

Is verification guaranteed?

No. Verification requests may require automated identity checks and Pollzy admin review. Pollzy may reject, revoke, or require reverification if information cannot be validated, profile details change, provider checks fail, fraud or impersonation risk is detected, or the account violates Pollzy rules.

Account, Privacy, and Data

How is my data handled?

Pollzy uses trusted service providers to run features like sign-in, storage, notifications, messaging, moderation, poll classification, chat-link safety, identity verification, analytics, ads, purchases, and support. For full details, see the links below.

How does friend discovery work?

If you choose to sync contacts, Pollzy can help you find people you may know. You can control whether others can find you by email address or phone number in Privacy & Data settings.

Can I control ad personalization?

Yes. In app: Settings > Ads > Ad Personalization. Turning this off tells Pollzy to request non-personalized AdMob ads where supported. You may still see ads, including rewarded ads and native ads, and device or provider settings may also affect ad personalization.

Can I request my data?

Yes. In app: Settings > Privacy & Data > Request My Data. You can request exports for account/profile information, poll activity, and social activity where available.

Can I change my email, password, or sign-in methods?

Yes. Account settings let you change your email or password where available, set a password for accounts without one, and manage sign-in methods.

Can I see where I'm signed in?

Yes. In app: Settings > Security > Signed In Devices. You can view your current device, other signed-in devices, and recently signed-out devices. Location labels are based on network information and may be affected by VPNs, carriers, private relay services, or network routing.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. In app: Settings > Account > Delete Account. Deletion is processed as quickly as practical, generally within 30 days, subject to legal, security, safety, moderation, and backup exceptions.

Notifications, Safety, and Support

How do notifications work?

You can receive in-app and push notifications for activity such as follows, comments, comment replies, mentions, likes, shares, chat messages, vote milestones, trending polls, Vibe Checks, duel invites, and duel status updates.

Can I control notification preferences?

Yes. Notification preferences are configurable in Settings. You can control push notifications, in-app toasts, and individual notification categories. You may also pause push notifications where available.

How do I report content or a user?

Use the in-app Report option on polls, comments, chat messages, or user profiles. Reports are reviewed by moderation/admin workflows.

What actions can moderation take?

Depending on severity and history, Pollzy may take no action, reduce visibility, remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, terminate accounts, or refer matters to appropriate authorities where required or appropriate.

How do I report a bug?

Use Support > Report Bug in the app. You may be able to include images or videos to help us understand the issue.

How do I request help or appeal moderation decisions?

Use Support > Contact Us in the app or email hello@pollzy.app.
